Unfortunate Fortune

Unfortunate Fortune

A Poem by Rebecca Isherwood

Sabotaged time and again

Destined to lose in this game

Fighting to find just one man

Who can make love and remember my name

Never winning, always hopeless

Alone and lonely are one in the same

Gone through too many lovers

Each one driving me more insane

I may have very poor taste

But who can say what's to blame

Could be this world is fucked

I've decided this pursuit is lame

Times have changed quite a bit

The damsel in distress is one tough dame

Angry, bitter and at a loss

For fear she'll never find her twin flame.
