All By Myself

All By Myself

A Poem by Rebecca Isherwood
"

From the High School Era

"

I’m sitting here
Alone and cold
I’m watching time pass
As the years grow old
The world whirls by
And I stand still
I could move if I wanted
I have the strong will
But I choose to stay
A statue made of stone
All the mortal vanish
I should have known
If only I were
A mortal like them
Maybe I would not
Feel so condemned
Doomed to be
For an eternity
So very cold
So unlike me
I have no more
Personality
What happened
To reality?
