Words for my Beautiful Stranger

Words for my Beautiful Stranger

A Poem by Rebecca Isherwood

After all that's happened
The evil that befell my heart
Truth is neigh indecipherable
Because I don't know where to start

Trapped, in a hollow existence
Wallowing in an eternal Hell
A faded shadow of my former self
Just skin, an empty shell

Wish I knew just how to tell
If only I knew what to say
I'm stuck in this state of being
And I fear it's where I'll stay

You see me as being abnormal
As just having a strange personality
What you don't seem to understand
Is that this isn't really me

I'm no longer in touch with reality
Body and soul torn from mind
An autopiloted android of sorts
Who's actions aren't really mine

My hands are bound as are my eyes
Entranced in the far off haze
The winding mysteries in my head
Are a labryinth; an inescapable maze

Do not try to save me from it
For I'll only drag you down too
If you had to deal with what I see
The darkness would surely drown you

Head on back to your daily routine
Pay me not a second glance
For once upon a time I had a life too
And I completely blew my chance

This is where I deserve to be
It is the result of consequence
I was caught up in Romanticide
Instead of being swept away by romance.

beautiful journey you took me on, through the hall ways of ur mind,
heart ,and soul ,,but the best ride was when i got to go where your spirit flowed ,
you are best at being trapped in that shell that holds you captured like a song bird putting all heaven in a rage..peace wizthom

I'd never seen the word "Romanticide" before and I have to say I really like it. I wonder if you're also a song writer since this and the other poem I've read of yours feel musical somehow. Anyway, I like that even though you use rhyming it isn't heavy handed in any way and doesn't end up sounding like a Hallmark card. Your other poem didn't either.

Now I want to go listen to the song "Romanticide" to hear their version compared to yours.
