Chaos Rules

Chaos Rules

A Poem by The Iron Horseman
"

As our world descends into anarchy, a little something to remember...

"

Police cars torched in riots,

Poisoned food in the stores,

Jet planes crashed by pilots,

Serial killers slaying w****s.

Children slaughtered in their schools,

Gang warfare in our streets,

Nations run by fools,

No cops left on the beat.

Constant war in the Middle East,

Streets blocked by barricades,

Peoples starving while warlords feast,

Living large on foreign aid.

Drug dealers killing cops,

Drug lords buying banks,

Cheap clothing made in sweat shops,

Inner cities patrolled by tanks.

As our buildings burn to embers,

And chaos takes its turn,

We all need to remember,

Some folk just like to watch things burn.

Wow. You really are nitty and gritty, Flash frontline news. You speak the truth.. Loud and out theirs. I like that a whole lot. no bullshit. Just facts. Dramatic, dark, scary. And real to live as you can get. Without even having to leave your front door.

I, too, mourn the passing of NORMALCY. It saddens me that my grandchildren cannot live the sort of childhood I enjoyed in the Nifty Fifties.
Not a pretty subject, but well handled!

Thank you, Angel. To quote an old song - 'The trouble with normal is, it always gets worse.'
Damn, the harsh reality. I wonder when will we actually learn to do humane things.

Oh yes, ashes give them pleasure. Can't agree more with the ending.
Thanks for sharing!

You're most welcome.
True fact. Some people just like fire.
We're definitely living in an angry world now, though that could be me watching the football.

your author's note is spot on as your poem is...sometimes a ice cold slap in the face is the best medicine eh!? all true ... we can stop it ... we do have power over chaos ... we all know how .. we just think winning elections is more important than doing it ... support law enforcement, civil rights (God given says our Bill of Rights and Constitution) education, businesses ... support the family and life ... be accountable etc. etc ... but the weakness of our Capitalist system is greed ... seems no one is immune to it :(((( great stuff sir! your poem has shaken me out of me little dream world

Thanks, Julie. My pleasure entirely.
I could kiss you for this. That last line is what it's all about (even tho your many examples are well-chosen & well-expressed). So many ranting commentaries neglect to realize the crazymakers just wanna troll us. I've stayed away from political commentary becuz I don't want to feed the monster our solicited outrage, but your poem is truly an exception to the current deafening noise. Your message sums everything up with delicious honesty clothed in sardonic tone (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie
