A Woman ScornedA Poem by The Iron HorsemanHell hath no fury like...
The wicked witch was a real b***h, She wanted that damned priest dead, If she couldn't have his heart, She'd settle for his head.
She fired up her cauldron, Started working up her brew, Rat's carcass, eye of newt, Vile ingredients, tried and true.
Her feminine charms had not swayed the priest, Nor had her invective. Her witch's charms, on the other hand, Might be considerably more effective.
She stirred the pot and thought real hard, About her machinations, Walked widdershins around the stones, And muttered incantations.
She took a goat by its horns, Drained its blood into the pot, Tore the corpse limb from limb, Then gave it her best shot.
She took a doll made from clay And struck the head off with her knife. At that exact same moment, The priest gave up his life.
He stopped preaching in mid-sentence, Gasped and drew in his final breath, Fell head first from the pulpit, And crashed down to his death.
His head fell from his shoulders, And rolled across the floor. The congregation panicked And tore out through the door.
The witch cackled gleefully, As she felt the vicar die, Then she danced a little jig And howled crazily at the sky.
So the next time you spurn A pretty woman's advances, Be careful how you do it, Don't give her scornful glances.
She may look harmless on the outside, But power may lurk, deep within, Power gained from a pact with darkness, Steeped in wickedness and sin.
You may think you are being righteous, That your saintliness is rich, But she's not going to see it that way And she might be a witch! © 2017 The Iron Horseman
