MermaidsA Poem by The Iron HorsemanA nursery rhyme definitely NOT for children! One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Once a fish caught me alive. Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, It didn't throw me back again.
It took me down to the bottom of the sea, And had its wicked way with me.
Pretty soon that fish did spawn, And my beautiful mermaid daughters were born.
Those girls very quickly grew quite large, And enticed the crew from a passing barge.
They took them down to the bottom of the sea, And each had their way with a man or three.
It was not too long before there were many fish. With mammalian parts that were nice to squish.
And there were many men with smiling faces, Sat beside the tidal races, Hoping to be taken again to the ocean floor, By a nice piece of tail wanting more, more, more. © 2017 The Iron Horseman
