My worth

My worth

A Poem by Winter

I say I'm worthless

It is nothing less than a fact

But why must I tell

Can I not just keep it to myself

Now it's all I do

Constantly annoying everyone

Yet they still defend

Their love still envelopes me so

They actually care

Nearly as I care and love for them

I'm worthless to them

Or that is what I used to think

I don't know my worth

But does that honestly matter

They find worth in me

And that is what truely matters

I love my friends

Why are we so hard on ourselves and accept everyone else with all their flaws? Self worth is a wicked thing that sometimes makes us measure ourselves against a higher standard. That's what your poem reminds me, because I do that myself too often.

Liked your perspective. Identify with it.
