Cotton

A Poem by Deana Marie
"

Bare skin

"
Don't you understand?
Can't you understand?

Hey,
I see my colors.
I see me, it is raw. A harsh reality.
It's just my mind does not leave me be.

See. For me,
It has always been a world war || on the battlefield walking in my shoes.

So please,

Look me in the eye.
There is where my beating heart bleeds.
Armed and ready.
Still hate I do not breed.

Only love. Love from my kindred soul, the soul of just me.
