Under this treeA Poem by Irishrite
I would peel this burning flesh off right now but I'm afraid you wouldn't recognize me.
From where I sit I see so many ways to leave. A branch, a hill, a road. Has it really come to this? My eyes have seen to much anguish. Too much wrong with this world. Falling like a leaf on a shaking tree. This hole I am sinking into never ends. Just down down down. Begging and pleading for my heart to stop bleeding. Wishing and crying but never quite dying. Every limb hurts like it wants to snap off of me. I am strong like the oak, Or just like the rubber tree, a joke. I'll never know which one. Once you get to this place you have to do it. Leap of faith.....down down down. Standing alone I want to come home. It's right over there, cant you see? Underneath that maple tree. Oh won't you please Place me underneath that tree? © 2018 IrishriteReviews
