The Ocean

The Ocean

A Poem by Izzy

She stands at the ocean- her hands at her side,
Watching the coming and going of the tide,
Watching the birds as the sing above,
Watching the man holding the hand of his love,
Watching the waves as the crash to the shore,
Wishing she wasnt alone anymore.
She sits on the beach and watches the moon,
A warm breeze blows, its the middle of June.
In the corner of her eye, he catches her sight,
She picks up her things and walks into the night.
In so many dreams shes seen that face,
In all of her dreams, standing in that very place.
She watches him leave, like so many times before,
She wipes away a tear and walks back to the shore.
Some come to the sea to be alone,
Some come in search of shells and stones,
Some look for comfort and a warm hand to hold,
Some look for love worth much more than gold.
