Candle FlickerA Poem by AlmThe world is sick and getting sicker.Everything falls to madness, everyone gets sicker from an unknown disease, a disease people want. And all the light, the candles slightly flicker. A once loving couple falls. They only bicker, while a young--also once--bright girl turns pale and gaunt, losing her hopes and dreams, and turns, slowly sicker. The clock does not stop moving with a broken ticker. Ghosts find no meaning to stop by at logic to haunt. Darkness isn’t so bad so,
let the candles flicker. Death has a new business, delivering goods quicker you get them while you are alive. This deal doesn’t daunt anyone anymore, there is no fear. The world turns sicker. A light in the dark, a charred candle wicker, slowly burning out. But this is what they want. Maybe one day, there will be no more candle flicker. The night is old, the streets swept by a city slicker selling a cure from the dark. People stop only to taunt. No one wants a cure, people want to be sick, sicker. Forever snuffing out the wavering light's flicker. © 2012 AlmAuthor's Note
