Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Alm
"

Err. This was inspired by the song Infinity by The xx. HAHA.

"

this silence cuts too deep

without the sound of goodbye.

of nothing left to keep,

I can see it in your eyes.

will your mouth form that word

without the sound of goodbye?

the way you look is blurred

and of all the things you’ve said,

will your mouth form that word

and this time, let go instead

of what we used to be.

and of all the things you’ve said

one word will set us free.

we can save what remains

of what we used to be.

the echo of our pains,

this silence cuts too deep

we can save what remains

of nothing left to keep.

I particularly like the last two lines...."we can save what remains...of nothing left to keep". Something rather haunting, almost desperate, about those lines. Nice visuals.

Nice work.....and you are welcome ! You seem very talented for your age/experience. Keep at it.
I see that writers block is slowly drifting away from you. Even slowly, at least there is some form of progress. I like this poem, not too complex, yet stated in a civilized manner. Well done, Alyssa.
