sun rising

sun rising

A Poem by Alm

Keep me still, hold me
close, in your arms, until this
starless night is done.
Until the voices fade to
whispers with the rising sun.

Author's Note

Alm
A little tanka, it was originally a looooong poem, but I figured it would make more impact as a short poem. I wrote it in class. Huhu. I will be back, soon, to review people and read. No timey now.

Sort of inspired by a conversation I had some time ago with a friend.

Big fan of short poems! It has more force 'cause you breathe it in so quickly or perhaps that is simply my short attention span speaking.

Beautiful.

I loved this a lot. I haven't written many tanka's. This is great! There is a lot of comfort shown in this poem. Good job!

About
Alm is short for Alyssa Marie. I'm sixteen now, I don't claim to write well. I'm sorry if I review bad. Sometimes I bake snickerdoodles, the smell of cinnamon and vanilla on my fingertips lingers... more..
