Success

Success

A Story by Karlene

I remember, when I was just a minor, that day which gives me enthusiasm to aim at the toughest goal and struggle for it. Those were the days when I was in nursery class, we didn't have much homework or we used to do it at the school. We all were bound to sleep at sharp nine. That night, as I lay down, I remembered that the teacher had given me a cucumber to colour it as my homework which I had forgot before. When I realized, the "time" could hardly bother me and I rushed towards the bag, drew out the pencils and started colouring. My dad, who was actually amazed at this behaviour of mine, came to me with his camera. He saved that moment in the long term memories as well as in the form of a photograph. That day, he came to know that I had the real potential to achieve greatness. From that ordinary task of colouring the cucumber, he knew that I could jump at the stars to catch the moon. He thought that that trait would lead me to a high rank, a very dignified status in life. He thought that his name had to be enlightened by means of my sincere dedication. Today, I am failed... not in the eyes of the surrounding people but in my own eyes. I could not fulfil the cherished dream of my father because of the inability to achieve the success defined by me.
