Waiting RoomA Poem by IonaFaith
There are so many places I don't want to be:
This doctors office waiting room is a great example. It's quiet but not in a nice way and the air is thick, As though other people's sicknesses are still there; Clinging to the carpet fibres and chair legs, Floating through your lungs with each cycle of the AC. I sometimes wonder if doctors' surgeries aren't more damaging To a persons health than just, Staying away. Illness manifests within these walls And as many pills and potions you take You just can't get the stench of it out of your hair or off of your skin. It leaves you crawling with disease for days. © 2013 IonaFaith |
