a Reflection of the Man and his Taste

a Reflection of the Man and his Taste

A Story by Heath Muchena

Men will stand ready to defend their reputation, even when it has not been called into question. This I observed  the other day when I was in the company of an acquaintance and we ran into his ex-wife. Pleasantries were exchanged and we were soon on our way. What struck me was the first thing he mentioned right after we were in the clear. He said: ‘‘man, you should’ve seen how good she looked back when we were still together…”. It was as though he’d instinctively assumed that my assessment of her would somewhat be a reflection of his taste, which was not the case, for I had not cared to observe any faults with her curves or flaws with her nerves.
