wrongs of innocence and experience

wrongs of innocence and experience

A Poem by Heath Muchena

a cosseted girl

can only hope to someday become the belle of the ball

and revel in her sartorial elegance

but she knows not when to employ deference

whilst the one of experience

needs no counsel and never plays the damsel in distress

for she is empowered well and can tell sincere charms from potential harms

and knows when not to succumb to men’s often lascivious spells
