The Sun will Rise AgainA Story by Ioanna EngarhosTragedy needs Hope.
Tragedy looked down at the list. The blood soaked note was barely legible, the edges crumpled and ripped. Her eyes quickly scanned what she could read, tears blurring her vision. Police officers surrounded Tragedy in a frantic hurry, and pushed her aside so that they can fit the stretcher into the kitchen. Her shoulder stung from where a police officer shoved her. Tragedy watched in horror from against the wall they crouched down and closed the victim’s eyes gently. The knife was in the victim’s chest and their hand was still open from where Tragedy had taken the list. Once they got the victim on the stretcher, they added a cover that resembled a garbage bag. Neighbors crowded on the lawn outside, peering into the open door. Some were speaking to the officers on the scene, and Tragedy could hear their shouts from inside. “What do you mean?” “It can’t be.” “I just talked to them yesterday!” Tragedy looked over the bodies in the kitchen and focused on the window over the sink. The sun turned the horizon into a flaming orange, slowly disappearing behind other buildings. Hope will be here tomorrow, thought Tragedy. Maybe she can fix this © 2018 Ioanna EngarhosAuthor's Note
