The night

The night

A Poem by Ioana Mihai

When the night covers
My side of the world
I get spine shivers
Feeling cold and alone.
I cover myself in my long hair
As a warm tickling duvet,
As a shield that I wear
With a sense of organic.
Then I look up the sky
Where wandering that far
The moon and stars glitter,
A universe that’s sweeter.
So many stars attractive
Which bright more combative
To get my attention
And to make impression.
Though my heart so full
Making such a passion
Only for the moon
Increasing in tension,
Overwhelmed so soon
Beyond comprehension.
I don’t need all stars
I don’t want that fame
I am not the same
I just wish the spark
Of the moon itself.
Then my heart will be
Satisfied, at peace
All my nights will feel
Warm and beautiful again.
