While trying to sleep…
I find myself once again,
With tears in my eyes
Thinking about you
And I wonder why
I’m still in love with you.
When you don’t seem
To care anymore
As you did before,
It’s not me who you’d miss
Evermore…
A beautiful love
Could have faded away
Was it truly pure
Or I was blinded
By the way I loved you.
Now I still have to hug
Some memories in my heart
When trying to sleep
You don’t come along
To whisper your love
And care as before.
I hope you are happy
Without me, anyway
Don’t look for me
Into anyone else
You won’t find again
The same love and heart.
You will still be my love
But one left behind,
Surface as a thought
Of a love from the past,
That wind blew away
Like a beautiful flower
Slowly loosing its petals
Yet still left sweet memories…
The sweetest memories are often the most painful when they are of lost love. They make us doubt ourselves; what did we do wrong, why weren't we good enough, why didn't the dream last? It doesn't matter that it might have had nothing to do with us personally, just a fickle heart that stayed awhile and wandered off like a stray cat that came in from the rain but when the rain stopped it was gone again. Best to put such thoughts as far away from our minds as possible and go on living for the love we have left to share with those who appreciate and value a trusting heart. I enjoyed the read.

Thank you for your lovely review and appreciation as well for your thoughts on this poem, I do agree.. read moreThank you for your lovely review and appreciation as well for your thoughts on this poem, I do agree with you. I leave my emotions in a poem and I move on. I can vividly feel and see into reading it sometimes again. But there’s infinite love to get and to share in different ways, so it never ends as long as we live. Hope, confidence, self worth and love are enough to live. Therefore, after shattered dreams we create new ones and keep living and loving again…
There is such beauty in sadness and your words just prove it. A love was lost that was precious and perhaps, irreplaceable. Perhaps, they don't wish to go on or perhaps, they do but there are some compelling circumstances forcing heats apart. Whatever be the reason, a precious love was lost and which though gone has left many fond memories and tears in its wake. Also, a broken soul that has attained the beauty of a thousand stars.

Such a sad piece that really touches the reader's (my) heart. There is beauty and love in your poem as well as loneliness and sadness and unfortunately, I know this feeling very well. What I can say is the night gets easier as the days pass. Nicely done.

We are blessed that we loved and been loved even if in the past. Present and future are still holding other blessings to come and we’d surely never stop loving ourselves, others, God, flowers… whatever we’d love there’s beauty in everything as it was or it’s to come…
