Alive
Standing tall on ambitions and dreams
Curious mind runs thoughts into streams
Growing a world of knowledge and power
Searching for it’s own mind desire…
Then silence makes place for the heart
To remember to sing an old song
Craving for peace and love to arise
Finding on Earth its own Paradise.

"Finding on Earth its own Paradise."

Sometimes we have to create our own paradises to survive this world, to hide from what it wants to show us. This feeling of being "alive," I sense, is when you are most involved in creative endeavors.

This poem perfectly sums up how I feel when I sit down to write. This is going into my favorites.

I am happy this poem made you find yourself in it. I do find myself in some of you poems too. When we write we take a living part of us, thoughts and emotions, dreams and hopes that would speak out in many forms, sometimes resonating with the readers or at least presenting our perceptions leading to new ones. As long as we share of us, we are alive.

I think you did a good job of mentioning the things that actually make us feel alive such as ambition, curiosity, gaining knowledge and power, seeking out one's own desire, peace, and even love. So much of this has been taken away from individuals by society that they become souless meat robots for corporations. It takes a unique person to be self analytical as well as have a keen awareness about what goes on in their environment. This piece may look short, but there is much here to unpack.

Thank you for this great review, indeed this poem has a lot in it and you did see it so deeply. There are more shallow people nowadays, individualistic and without meaningful purpose, but for the ones around that can see and feel deeply, it’s a joy and the life is worth living.

I particularly like the final two lines in this short poem. When reading it, it gave me a real sense of living and experiencing life to the full. Pleased I stopped by to read you Ioana. We all want peace and to have our own paradise here on earth while we are here. Difficult at the moment. We live in such challenging times.
