Staring into my soul fighting this world’s chaos
Hearing it’s sights like the heaviest thuds
Staring into my mind, tired to comprehend
All the questions and answers mixed-matched
Staring into my heart, in all it’s broken pieces stitched all over again
Fatigued of sharing its pain, when its words are being banned
She, the heart, talks instead in hundreds of tears
Making a compromise into a poem to leave behind some painful memories…
It is ok to take stock of our failures and successes , our comforts and pains; part and parcel of being human. We are all a work in progress. Effective poetry indeed.

That meant something to me. Poems as painful memories. Too bad our negatives tend to inspire poems more easily than positives. I try to write positive but it's definitely harder.

Interesting to read your poem because it reminds me of the poems I wrote when I was younger.
Poems filled with pain and longing.
I kept these poems and now as I am quite a bit older I am reading them..
My feeling have changed and my new poems reflect that.
They are about thoughts and not about me and my feelings anymore.. Life has a way of moving on and changing us..

Poetry can be therapy for the soul. And sometimes verse can express things too difficult to speak about. Words and feelings well expressed.

All the greatest and best things have no words. Also, the most tender and terrifying. Also, the saddest and most certain. We desire not to give those things words because words simply shrink them down to a size that can be squeezed onto a page for someone else to read or know when, while they were yet in our hearts, they were vast and limitless and beyond description. I enjoyed your poem. Things get better. There are many who will encourage us to keep the faith. I like to encourage passing it around. Bless. F.

It is true, sometimes words are not enough or a waste, but poems can always transpose even hidden and untouchable places and emotions. My pleasure. Wishing you peace, love, hope and light. F.
The world is a very chaotic place but your poem shows the transformative work that you do...in a way you manage to make suffering eloquent thorough the use of powerful metaphor.

Beautifully said, so kind, thank you for your review.
Poetry is a way I can share my most personal thoughts.when I don't wish to talk out loud about them. I certainly find it easier to write things down. I resonate with this poem. We live in complex and violent times. Not alot of kindness about. It causes inner pain when I know it doesn't have to be like this. Good to read you.

Yes, we can say through poems more than we can express otherwise. And the we have to keep the kindness within and share it to others that are in lack of it… maybe it can help, although the pain is on us most times, I wouldn’t change it.
In many ways you have described just what poetry is all about; looking within the soul to seek out answers to our life's ills and listening carefully to what the heart beats out in morse code and turning that into words on the page. And heartfelt writing is the best one can produce. It's therapy for the soul for many. I am sure your heart will have many more poems to share. Much enjoyed this write, Ioana.⚘
