Lakeside Lovers

A Poem by Inyourshadow

The moon reflects soft
it's rays flowing
in stone thrown ripples
as I await this night
your touch.

The stars caught
in dew sodden cobwebs
shift position
in late evenings breath.

A twig breaks
a bird startled from rest arises
kissing tree tops
in open armed embrace.

And you where are you
amongst all this beauty
if not in my arms
you are always in my heart.

Hands blind my eyes
in whispered guess who
from breathy lips
and I silently smile my answer.

My hands upon yours
hold you there a moment to long
my heart aches my lips plead
and I turn expectant of your kiss.

Your smile frames your sweet mouth
pressed hard to mine
words lost in translation
of I love yous from occupied tongues.

Night falls in solitude of silent pines
their needles sewn blankets
of fresh crisp snow
where now I have my angel.
