Very short. I think that this is a good turn for you (pun intended). The speaker in the poem portrays sadness, maybe even disappointment, at the corner's sudden end. I would guess that something was lost, or possibly someone, along life's path for the speaker. Maybe the speaker was caught in a trap and had no other place to turn. There are so many possibilities, and it is hard to rule any out.
