Beneath False Edens Broken Promises

Beneath False Edens Broken Promises

A Poem by Inyourshadow
"

Another years end and so much still left unforfilled

"

Light
once more
the funeral pyre
of wasted unwanted yesterdays
and
let burn
with random abandonment
all the hidden pain contained.

For
this new
morn offers all
a chance to celebrate...
death
in rise
of liquid fire
to burn the words
from last years unwarmed lips.

So
with me
bid tonight die
and to it's grave
take our dreams still born
and
prayer yet
we still may
in this fresh year
have time to ressurect them.

So
sleep soft
my heart unbeaten
beneath heavy trod sod
of false Edens broken promises..
For
yet I
knew before dawn
that night would fall
leaving the fair maid unrescued.

very clever word play my friend!!! I love the emotion involved here... letting go of the undone is never easy... and even though it may be simply because a situation is not over yet, sometimes its just what we need to do to be okay... I can digg it!!!
very nice!!

The melancholy of a thousand undone things may weigh down on the mind, but, in light of life, we always need to be able to do something. For, if we don't, what would we all do with our lives? A quiet introspection that made me think.

Happy resolutions to you, my friend. I hope that you will resolve to do as much as you can this new year. :3

So very poignant. So sad that it is mimicking my life at the present or at least how I am feeling. Keep on penning.
