Children of the Restless DeadA Poem by InyourshadowWhen children suffer for adults follyI've seen em' sarge the private said, the children of the restless dead. with bullet holes where mouths should be, they screamed it seemed their pain to me. With flashing eyes of naked flame, they burned my soul and learned my name. They pointed me out with bayonets, and carved upon my heart regrets. Their barbed wire hair was matted thick, and smelt of death which made me sick. They offered me a sight of war, and that is what I really saw. If you doubt my words of warning, then sleep tonight and pray for morning. © 2011 InyourshadowAuthor's Note
