Damn your eyes

Damn your eyes

A Poem by Inyourshadow
"

Inspired by Lily Mae poem Eyes wide shut

"

Let me damn your eyes,
so that these rivers of tears pool
in resevoirs of life giving water.
To irrigate once more
your barren fields of dreams,
bringing forth
sweet aromatic jasmine and lavender
to ease your restlessness.
There in shedding petals found
a carpet for bare feet
to cushion you from the pain
of lifes rocky road.
So once more I say

Damn your eyes

The eyes tell it all, they speak of our passion and our hurt. Truly the windows to the soul. A great piece!

The eyes, yes, they can haunt, become an obsession or something we hate
because we see ourselves in them...nice read...

Well done as always. From the dam, the water builds up a reserve and can be used to irrigate the new fields. Such wonderful imagery. Keep on penning.

Oh I love the way you wrote this... Instead of cursing, it is protecting them...love it!

Putting a damn so happiness may flourish and bloom, watering the internal emotions.

Wonderful!!!
