Velveteen KissesA Poem by InyourshadowA one scene play made from a poetic collab between myself and VelvetRossettaThe moon hangs full in a satin clothed sky emitting soft ethereal lights to dance upon the surface of the pool, where sits our broken hearted suitor, wishing on the first star of evening...
Hast thou no words of comfort Mistress Moon, to give freedom to my heart in chains. Hast I given of myself too soon, laying open my love to bear such pain...
He gazes into the pool, his fingers tracing unseen features upon its silvery surface.
Shadow ~ Hast now the word of written pen, fallen deaf in death on fading page. Hath though enslaved my Tongue again, within thy mouth my wanton cage.
A solitary tear drop rolls upon his cheek falling toward his mournful reflection.
In a tree ladden garden amongst the the weeping willows sits a maid her face cupped within her own trembling hands as soft she speaks to nothing more than floral boquets dancing slowly in the evening breezes.
Velvet ~ Tainted ink, flowing from crippled fingertips, as potent words held 'neath his tongue. Dare he be of wounded dreams... May his words...be mine own unheard song.
Again he rises moving slowly towards the path on which in summers thrall they strolled.
Shadow ~ Lest my words be misunderstood, in silence of their vocal grave. Attain their truth upon trembling lips as to atone and my heart save.
She turns her face toward the tree as her fingers idly re carve there their initials and their hearts.
Velvet ~ Unto thee, my palate drips words we both were meant to sip... I take a hence of witted guilt and bury it deep within torments myth.
As one beneath the same anguised sky they spake...
Let not the shadows of lovers past, in half light and half truths writhe. That bind the heart and blind the eyes, making me ache to feel alive.
Velvet ~ To slay the anguish of mistrust, and bare the hope of destined love... Shall two hearts break at once- or shall my veil unravel now?
Plucking a single red rose and breathing in both it's beauty and aroma, he places it to his lips and smiles at it's velveteen kiss.
Shadow ~ So let this night my touch confirm, all that my words hath failed to say. And let fall this eve in passioned breaths, as my lips upon yours lay.
A strange sensation makes for our maiden to tenderly touch her own lip as if already touched soft by another, thus smiling she speaks..
Velvet ~ Whatever more shall I say, after such denies against faith. Sip upon these lips of dew As passion bounds us now... as two made one.
The darkness covers them as the moon herself is covered by coming rain clouds maybe an omen of tears but for what be they shed...
sadness or joy?
