Tear me to shreds

Tear me to shreds

A Poem by Inyourshadow
"

Words cut deeper than any blade

"

Break my fragile spine
I am but the book
recording your words.

Tear me to shreads
i am but the pages
upon which you wrote your heart.

Burn me to ashes
I am but the illedgible fragments
of a love destroyed.

By nothing more...

than words.

Funny how words can hurt so much, more tha cuts and fists, even those can heal faster than the pain of ones words... seems emotional pain is much more hard to heal then the physical.
We are a diary indeed!
Our heart and mind soak up each word and place it into different areas of us... thats how I see it. We are a treasure chest and we are filled with pecious gems when we are showered with words of love, courage and praise... but those damn pirates come to steal from us what is rightfully ours, Love and confidence.

Thank you this piece In...

Wonderful play on words, cleverly constructed..no need to have any more added, a romantic notion..

Beautiful! Love the metaphor of a book and how words affect us... fabulous!

It is often that people don't think their hurtful words effect us because we don't express any emotion at the time. Little do they know that words cut us deep, and true...words cut WAY deeper compared to any blade alone. But eventually, we are able to push past the hurt and become stronger by accepting that those words hurt us, but we are able to move on and become better people if we don't let them effect us as they used to.

Words can lift you into the heavenlies or they can tear you into a million pieces. Well done as always. So poignant it tugs at my tender heart strings. Keep on penning.

Love this piece, it made me think about my traveling notebook and how I have been ignoring it. I think today is a day to go for a drive, write a poem far away from home!
