Writers Cafe......( A 17th Birthday poem for Stars by Far )

Here we drink no coffee
for words are more our taste
as we outpour our feelings
and alter cut and paste

For here in this cafe
where friends come for a chat
and pen out their emotions
in a little tit for tat

People of all ages
and genders, colour, race
all welcome you arms open
with a smile upon their face

They wish you good morning
and happy birthday too
Cause they are so glad to have
a friend as true as you

So when I gaze tonight
at each and every star
this shadow will be smiling
and hoping that you are

For seventeen years past
a mere blink of the eye
so eat and drink, be merry
and keep you chin held high
