Unloved in Life, Unmourned in Death

Unloved in Life, Unmourned in Death

A Poem by Inyourshadow
"

A Halloween warning

"
A skeletal figure enters stage right..

In death have I known the loneliness
that a broken heart must feel.

Yet I in permanent state of breaking down
have no chance to ever heal.

The grave hath swollowed all light and warmth
and left me cold and so alone.

For here at the end of days in solitude
the ache of the heart is known.

Turn away the moon that bids me rise
and scare the stars like skittish birds.

Take a look and see this sad demeanor
and for loves sake heed my words.

Run to them with open arms and smiles
draw them close in every breath.

Or you too will know the pained emptiness
of one as I unloved in life unmourned in death.

Raw and what an impact..yes...its often the case that people give or return that love too late!
And when we all breath in a new life..after this one..will we be able to say we gave it freely?
Thought provoking xoxo

It is so much better to live your life full of mistakes than a life full of regrets. Well penned as always!
