Self Harm

When a friend other than the blade is required

my pain I bear
on my bared arm
and show the world
the world of self harm

don't say relax
or just stay calm
you do not know
why I do self harm

don't stand and smile
insincere smarm
for that won't stop
my need to self harm

don't say there there
or offer balm
they cover up
but hide not self harm

turn now away
give me no quarm
misunderstand
why I need self harm

do buy me off
with offered alms
for that won't help
to ease my self harm

just listen please
sense my alarm
I need a friend
to end my self harm

so take a sec
with self harmed palm
and forgive me
lord for my self harm
