As One Mourner LaughedA Poem by InyourshadowA little dark piece for HalloweenHis fingers clawed the fresh laid lid his bloodied nails did trace the darkness now the terror hid of his badly painted face His wedding suit seen better days pressed hard against the wood was stained with more than cheap champagne as for now it bore his blood As his eyes strained to make out shapes he heard the organ sound the coffin moved towards the drapes where the flames of death were found The mourners wept in spasmic bouts as sweat ran or' his face above the noise another sound that now seemed so out of place Loud laughter rang from echoed walls and whispered voices spoke How low now the mighty falls as upon your pride your choke The pain you caused is washed away by insincere tears face ye now this judgement day along with your deepest fears So grind your teeth and roll your eyes no pity will I show for your hateful spiteful lies have reserved a place below So scream no more and be a man the time at hand is nigh and I will now the flames so fan and bid you fool goodbye. © 2011 InyourshadowAuthor's Note
