Hunting Eleph~AntsA Poem by InyourshadowJacob playing explorerHe opened up his jungle pack, to load it with supplies. With sugar lumps and jelly tots, with sandwhiches and pies. An apple and an apricot, a pear a peach a plum. Then just to make a meal of it, he added chewing gum. With a folded map and compass, a notepad and a pen. He ticked off his provisions, and checked them once again. No time to make mistakes he thought, binoculars in hand. For I must find the eleph-ants, and find out what they've planned. So off he set into the grass, the sun beat on his head. To seek once more the eleph-ants, that roamed the flower bed. There were none beneath the roses, nor by the daffodils. It would seem they saw him coming, and headed for their hills. So all alone and undeterred, he emptied out his pack. And left the eleph-ants his sweets, then slowly headed back. Tomorrow is another day, and the search is half the fun. To catch a sight of eleph-ants, beneath a setting sun. © 2011 InyourshadowAuthor's Note
