Midnight Hue

Midnight Hue

A Poem by Inyourshadow
"

A heart in progress

"
Banish now the Midnight hue
in the sadness from your eyes
and shake loose forlorn regret
soft imbued in lovers lies

For they see not your beauty
that lays buried deep within
they only seek to know you
in the act of skin on skin

They promised no tomorrows
they seek only this one night
a chance to warm their bodies
by your scented candle light

They offer no devotion
as they kneel before your throne
and know that come the morning
you again will wake alone

Only a heart unspoken
through the words as yet unsaid
can bind two souls together
with ethereal silver thread

I love this the way it is. My favorite part is the last stanza. Keep on penning!

The only edit I would make would be to punctuate, this is a really sound piece and one that was a delight to read. I am not sure why one would change it at all, but if you feel the need.

I openly and quite normally give suggestive and constructive responses on possible ways to improve a poem, but to tell you the truth, I think this one is better left as it is. I do see one possible improvement somewhere other than the ending stanza. I can send you a message about it if you wish.
Otherwise, great poetry mate, you truly are an awesome writer with great ability. In my perspective the poem is about one night stands, and does a wonderful job of describing them. I enjoyed it very much, thnx for the good read ^_^
