They wear our faces

They wear our faces

A Poem by Inyourshadow
"

A poem inspired by a poem I read by Kim. The Beautiful Butterfly ( Check her out )

"

What is a child ?

They are the sharp intake of breath

each time they fall...

They are the sleep we sacrifice

when they are sick...

They are the little luxeries we go without

to keep them fed and clothed...

They are the tiny mirrors held upto us

returning our smiles...

with fathers eyes and mothers lips

forever.

Thank you for the recommendation. It is a lovely poem and so aptly describes the feeling of a parent watching their child. Well done. Keep on penning.
