Not the best way to treat a book :) Why is it just because something isn't perfect it's deemed as being of no use?
Brilliant 10 words as it could have been taken another way, makes your reader pause and think :) Best of luck

My interpretation is because of his disfigurement he could not stand up. Now I need to figure why they were in the library..and perhaps he was with someone since it reads "he discarded you" very good use of 10 words!
