Nursery Love Sonnet

Nursery Love Sonnet

A Poem by Inyourshadow
"

What was he thinking

"

I am lost to my lonliness
as I am too afeared to fall
in case my heart be broken
and my love heeds not my call

Lost within the indecision
should I stay or choose to leap
letting the weight of preconception
draw me down and in too deep

Would the arms so sorely sought
catch my fall and bring release
or would I find love unrequited
as left me broken piece by piece

So wander not and wonder never
A heart unchanced is far more clever

                                      Humpty Dumpty.

A broken heart. You were jilted by the love of your life. Thats my take. Just wondering ..in the second line did you mean (afraid ) instead of (afreared)?/ Just wondered. I know I have gone over mine and found typos. No matter though..this poem to me is a love poem of wanting, not getting, and fearing the rejection, you are trying to decide whether you should leave before your heart is broken.

I like the approach you took to this nursery rhyme. Well done. It is an interesting take on what he was thinking.
