Lighting The Way

Lighting The Way

A Poem by Dead

Wake up to my parents fighting
Feel like dying
It takes all I have to keep trying
I feel like an empty space
I've already fallen from grace
Just another person trapped in this rat race
I'm just waiting for that one day
That I can just fade away
But for now I stay
I'll continue to keep lighting
The way just incase
Someone needs help finding their place.

i like the third last line of your poem . like you r trying to tell that someday that light will lift away the darkness n show the path.

so many can relate to these words, those that are still going through it, and those who went through it in their childhood, before it ended at least. I love the ending that you still are going to be the one that provides a light incase someone needs help finding their place. I don't know if this was your meaning but so many kids or teens think it is their fault when their parents fight and that they have to be that light in both of their lives.

it is a lot of responsibility to put on anyone's head when it is down to the two in the relationship. well done, wonderful write.

Short raw and simple, I really like the imagery you got going on. Very well written to display emotions. Thanks for sharing this piece.
