When The Sun Sinks

When The Sun Sinks

A Poem by Dead

When the sun starts to sink,
My thoughts are so frantic I can barely think,
My heart starts to beat faster,
My head is filled with demonic laughter,
But I know from the way the demons rhyme,
That the voice inside my head is mine,
Fear sometimes keeps me awake,
When I hear a noise in the dark I start to quake,
I always hear there warning,
That if I go to sleep I wouldn't wake up in the morning,
There's so many ways to die,
Just thinking of them all I want to hide and cry,
You could die in your sleep,
You could die counting sheep,
You could die by a spider,
Or by a viper,
About all of this I think,
When the sun starts to sin.

Really beautiful to be honest. Last few lines imply the essence that the person is interested in death. You have portrayed these emotions amazingly. Just a little glitch at the 9th line where it should be *their instead of there.

Believe me. I was very interested in death too. Still am, perhaps.

Yes we can. I would be happy to help anyone in whatever way I can. :)
This is a great battle between knowing what's right and the voices inside the heads of people with depression and PTSD. Maybe even people who don't have it, I don't know honestly. Great job, and keep it up.

thank you .
Nicely written,

I can't relate to the topic as I am on the flip-side, actively inviting it rather than fearing it. Yet, it gives a tantalizing glimpse into the heart of those gripped in it's fear.

One thing I noticed, on the last line, should it not be "When the sun starts to sink" or is it an intentional note on how darkness brings sin ...
