A Chapter by Dead

As the music starts playing I take Jefferey's father's arm and we start walking down the aisle. I can feel myself blush and when I look up and meet his eyes I almost stumble over my own feet because of the love and happiness I can see in his eyes. He's so handsome and amazing how did he fall in love with me? I think as his father leads me farther closer to the love of my life. The a thought strikes me and tears come into my eyes, My father would be so proud.

We reach the end of the aisle and the preacher asks, "Who gives this woman to be wed?"

"I, the groom's father, do. In place of our dear Shadow's deceased father." The preacher looks at him and smiles.

Finally after what feels like eternity his father gives Jefferey my hand and winks as me and I can feel my face go bright red. Jefferey leads me up to the preacher and the preacher says, "Dearly Beloved we are gathered here today to unite this man and woman in holy matrimony..."

The rest of his words are drowned out as I smile at him. This is the best day of my life... God I love him. Then Jefferey looks deep in my eyes and says, "I, Jefferey Silverheart, take you, Shadow Martez, for my lawful wife, to have and to hold from this day forward , for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health until death do us part."

"I, Shadow Martez, take you, Jefferey Silverheart, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you for all the days of my life."

The preacher looks at us shocked because he didn't tell us to say that, then he shakes it off and says, "Do you, Jefferey Silverheart, take Shadow Martez to be your lawful wedded wife?"

Jefferey smiles softly, "I do."

"And do you, Shadow Martez, take Jefferey Silverheart to be your lawful wedded husband?"

"I do." I say trying not to cry from my happiness.

" Now by the powers invested in me by the country of the United States of America, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." The preacher says and Jefferey is already reaching towards me.

He pulls me to him and kisses me and I can feel all of his love. As he pulls away he looks deep in my eyes and says, "Know I'll always love you." Then he falls to the ground and dies.That's it. He just fell and was gone.

I think people were yelling and running around but I didn't see or feel any of it. All I could feel was a terrible cutting sensation that destroyed what was left of my battered heart. I just stood there staring at his body crying and thinking, "I can't survive this." Then I walked out the door, got into my car and drove home. I get out all of my medication and take it. And as sleep starts taking over I look at his picture and say, "I couldn't live without you. I love you so mu..."
