Curse Of Valentine's Day

Curse Of Valentine's Day

A Poem by Darkened_drear

Cannot see beyond the steel of cemetery gates
The w****s of time buried my fairy-tale
Neath the dust of a never-coming dawn
Eternity stretching over a scarlet horizon

Darkened skies stir the sins of the dead
Awakening repetitive lies
Digging the dirt from my rotting flesh
Silence echoing rows of crumbling stone

I wander in perilous confusion
Seeking an answer to the pain
Hoping the fire in my coffin
Will burn my corpse

But still I see the poison
Converging upon my name
Is this love really the same
A Valentines day nightmare

Where the burden of a broken heart
Is the curse of shame
A loss of human dignity
Time the essence of cruelty

Centuries spent
Glimpsing hell
The children of believers
Now the crushed on passions scene
