The Road

The Road

A Poem by Darkened_drear

I lost my way
Through the rocky road to faith
My ankles gave
And I stumbled in love with you

Failure falsifying favor
Your face turned away
When I fell from grace
And my whispered promise putrid again

You staggered into the light
And in the darkness I was trapped
Unable to catch you
When my tears filled the wells of hell

Reaching for what was no more
Words too hard to form
From sealed lips
Watching you flee every second in monstrous memoirs

Living a fib
The war withing clenches me into place
Away..So far away..from you
Where everything is nothing all over again

And I am wandering aimlessly
For a cure to this cancer
Crippled and contrite
Death will not let it end only begin ten times or more

You were the closest I came to heaven
But the beautiful hues have betrayed me
The heartache is true
Ringing through these lonesome canyons

Echoing my endless screams for your return

Because denial can't be done when the whole universe knows your love is leading me t
