The falsely accused

The falsely accused

A Poem by Darkened_drear

How could they know?
The beast that lay in wait
Wanting the darkness to flee
Nothing can stain their perfect establishment
Because down by the water was the monster
All their frightening nightmares seemed to be about
The creature inside me
Clawing for a place
Badges and guns
Arrested for a crime these bloodied hands did not commit
Sun sinking down on me
And they stood fast to accuse
That noose
No escape just the humiliation of false reality
Stones smacking into me
Punished for the precious mayors sins
My heroic act landed me here on deaths pale white horse
While he stood smiling to watch the local outcast
Swing in circles
A broken neck
But now nobody comes here
Because I haunt this hell
And their fear drives them all away
