Looking Back on Our Past

What a girl feels when she looks through an old photo album of hers.

 

It all came to me one rainy afternoon

I was looking through all my old pictures

Which consequently led to your face being looked upon.

My eyes filled with tears

Remembering all the times we spent together.

 

Swimming in your pool.

Looking for sea glass on the beach.

Crab hunting when we needed more excitement.

So many laughs.

 

The French Fry Eating Team at Friendly’s after the movies.

Shooting your air-soft gun in the backyard.

Just passing the time talking.

Always supporting me no matter what.

 

The tears streaming down my cheeks

I managed a small smile

Remembering all the fun we had together

But also how the chapter of our friendship came to an unexpected halt.

 

You acting unlike yourself whenever I was around

Ignoring me whenever I stopped to say “Hey” in school

A misunderstanding over the phone

Led to the end.

 

You thought you couldn’t trust me.

I thought you broke my heart.

Regardless to who was right

We lost everything:

The fun times

The serious talks

Each other- our best friend.
