Come to an End

Come to an End

A Poem by Intothemilkyway

The Moon watched over me
She watched me choose the path
I promised not to take.
The stars cried.
They cried so hard that they felt my pain.
They cried for me as i wasn't able to.
Even now i still can't.
While the moon still watches
With her own gruesome shadow
It's like she's punishing me for my actions.
Indeed, she is.

But what can i say?
Im only human in the end.
Im bound to make mistakes.
This one was the most childish.
Still a growing process
Mistakes are meant to happen
But just once
If it's a second,
I must be punished.
Since it was known,
That i was taken away by desire.

“Still a growing process
Mistakes are meant to happen“

Very true! Hard for me to live out a times but it’s something I’m “growing” in about accepting my mistakes.
I rather just not make them lol
But this whole “human” experience is an acquired taste that I’m learning how to experience more & more lol

This is incredible writing & star-studded imagination! I was so transfixed, all the way thru. Very rarely does a writer get thru to me like this poem does, as far as tapping into a universal well of vulnerability that we all have, being so imperfect, making stupid choices, etc. It takes a lifetime to learn to forgive ourselves for being human & that's why it's so tender that this narrator pleads for leniency, to be understood, which is the height of self-love & very rare, really. Most people thrash themselves for all kinds of reasons. This is so self-forgiving, you can't help but love & accept this explanation of how it was for the narrator. Also, I noted that "the moon" (such sublime personification!) could be a parent, a god, one's own self . . . whoever one subconsciously answers to in life (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Sometimes you've just got to blame your unconscious for your misdeeds.
Though the punishment should match the misdeed. This is a great way to lead your life, cos you're never really to blame for any misdeed.

Yes my dear we all make mistakes and take the wrong road
That is the way we learn
Sometime temptation or inquisitiveness
WE want to know what is banned and why
Intense pleasure or disaster

Take care as you go and test new ground
