May be forgotten.

May be forgotten.

A Poem by Intothemilkyway

She said ,
"You'll remember when i'm gone."
These words remind me of the time
we were together.
Nothing less nothing more.
But i'm lost now.
I can't do a single thing.
So he said.
Sad and lonely , continued ...

Repeating.

One phrase
That's all it was.
But in the end...
"You'll remember when #### is gone."
echoing that ephemeral moment
We shared, held together

Nothing less, nor more
Unspoken: without breath
To convey
our grief//my solitude

Amaranth regret haunting
What I've become
Lingering within
Your distant nebulous
Eyes//Refracting
Cadenced verse of
Fractured waves
Upon black-shored
Mnemonic tides

A singular word
An evermore lament
Forsaken
In erstwhile embrace

Author's Note

Intothemilkyway
This is a collab i did with Nusquam Esse which i deeply thank a lot for accepting and participating on it.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did working on it.
You can see how well our minds connect with each other and made this masterpiece.

Enjoy? Such an incredible collaboration, two minds certainly in sync.. but. such a sadness within the mass of finely laid words. To write in such harmony shows such like-mindedness. No need to 'feel the way; because you've shared it. I don't choose a phrase or couplet when reviewing a collaboration.. :)

To love so greatly only for it to end. Some loves never truly leave and linger for an eternity.

I have thought many times in my own mind you will remember me when I’m gone. Mine does when I’m quiet and don’t message him for a few days. It’s a complicated story.

This is a great poem and amazing collaboration. Heartfelt and one most can relate to on some level.

such a sadness conveyed ... i think the opening and closing lines are powerful. "You'll remember me when i'm gone" ... oh my :( I very foolishly took a lover's leap once upon a time .. and she said "This is going to end badly for you. :)) One would think the warning would have been sufficient .. it wasn't but we had a heck of a time while it lasted. ;) ... "Forsaken .... In erstwhile embrace" .. love that .. lots of wisdom in accepting ones pain and grief .. i see a bit of Karma playing out as well in V2 (not counting the one liner) L4 ... i find this poem to be complicated .. as human beings can be .. Nusquam is a deep philosophical man (wish he would spend more time here at the Cafe') ;) you and i are only beginning to "get to know one another" ... in your note you say "masterpiece" .. not sure i am qualitied to say .. you cheeky little thing you! :)))))))))) i was drawn to read this "Repeating" over and over every line .. well done .. it is a melded story of love, life, leaving, and heartbreak replayed, as we do, in our own minds for as long as it takes i suppose ... even your title speaks to me .. its ok to let go .. to be forgotton on both sides of that coin .. thanks, you two, for sharing .. this one will stick with me today for sure

Beautiful collab! Very sentimental and grief entangled accepting the loss and the nostalgia communicating by reminiscence and its potency of life. In the line " Nothing less, nor more
Unspoken: without breath
To convey
our grief//my solitude." Breaths beauty with pain. Keep writing enjoyable read sincerely your friend in poetry and life

Thank you so much for your review. Really lovely
I think that second part is for me too complicated . I like first part that language there is more plain and I can more related to that. You use very nice expression and it's feel almost like a prayer. From my experience if you don't forget your friends they will don't forget you neither .

Don't worry I am not worry. I just tried to explain how I feel about your poem.
I never would've guessed this was a collaboration as I was reading. Everything about this message is seamless & connected. It feels like the object (a person) of this poem is fading in & out for the narrator -- that's so true to the way it can be with many memories. Some people we've known & who've had an impact on our lives fade completely away, but then pop back into relevance for certain important moments (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
