My heart and mind

Heart is beating 

Heart is pumping

Heart is doing her job

To keep me alive.

But why do i feel empty 

Why am i hurting 

Why does my heart desire someone 

That is not possible to be with

Oh my dear heart,

Please just do your job 

Don't beat endlessly for someone unreliable 

Don't give my stomach butterflies 

Let me be in peace and go on my way.

My mind is alright. 

She knows what she wants.

But the heart,oh this heart of mine

She keeps beating for nothing 

This feeling i hate it.

Oh my heart, just do your job 

....

Am i wrong tho;? 

I keep my mind occupied with work

But even she sometimes seems to be wandering off 

She makes me remember 

Oh the bad memories .

Good or bad they are still memories 

My memories. 

But i don't want to remember 

Please give me a break 

Oh my dear heart .

In the immortal words of Alfred Lord Tennyson:
'Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all."

We (You & I) know, that when it comes to desire, want, and need, the heart has a mind all its own, eh? And, regardless however hard we might fight it, whomever it sets its sights on to fall for, it's pointless to fight it, unless we are willing to settle for an irresistible ache and yearning for that person it's set its aim on.
It won't matter, either, that the mind knows better, that it's obvious possible heartache is ahead, the heart will have its way, conferring with the body and its passionate desire to make it even more impossible to resist … we know about it, don't we(?) … all too well, and how wondrously exciting and irresistibly arousing it is, too.
How brilliantly and vividly you've expressed your feelings and emotions through the stirrings of your excellent pen, and it's amazing how effectively you pulled me into your moments with you.

This is what meaningful poetry does to a romantic heart like mine.
