The Darkness

The Darkness

A Poem by Dawn Jones

Loving her’s like poison

Burning in my soul

Broken down and bleeding

As I throw her to the floor

I wanted her to see me

Accept me as I am

But I was always second best beneath her self-righteousness

I’m wanting her to suffer

To feel what I have felt

So maybe she will understand

The cards that she had dealt

Let crystal hearts be shattered

With bloody battered fists

Bitter hate and jealousy controlling all I am

All she sees is who she is

But she’s not what she thinks

The darkness is inside us both

I just set it free

The Devil Within (Diabolis Interium) That Control's The Darkness. Remain In The Past To See A Better Future For You Can Learn More From This Person As You Move On In The Present For This Person Can Reflect On The Things Your Looking For In Another. Things To See And Move To The Side For If You See These Again Then You Know The Next One Is The Same So Keep Searching Within The Dark And When The Cold Moves With You At Your Side Then You Can Feel Better When You Finally Meet The Right One. You Are Better Than This Person And Your Heart Tells You To Leave This One Alone. Hard To Do But Ive Been There. It Hurts But We Must Move On Hun. Just Take Your Time. I Like This One.

You know after I reread this I almost feel like the first she in the poem is just looking in the mirror and the second she is her reflection...something to ponder.

I love the way this builds and the reader builds with it, then we are all set free in the end.
Wonder. Thank you for sharing.

Haha. Poetry can work as a pill to get away anger and rage.

"The darkness is inside us both
I just set it free"... great lines.
