The Darkness

The Darkness

A Poem by Dawn Jones

Loving her’s like poison

Burning in my soul

Broken down and bleeding

As I throw her to the floor

I wanted her to see me

Accept me as I am

But I was always second best beneath her self-righteousness

I’m wanting her to suffer

To feel what I have felt

So maybe she will understand

The cards that she had dealt

Let crystal hearts be shattered

With bloody battered fists

Bitter hate and jealousy controlling all I am

All she sees is who she is

But she’s not what she thinks

The darkness is inside us both

I just set it free

Now, here is a dazzling gem of darkness that I think highly relatable. It's one hell of a theme, loaded with intense emotion and I dare say, it reminds me of something I've seen between a couple characters on my favourite show on television. Thing is, this is obviously spot on for life and not for viewing by stranger. Exquisite.

Woo hoo! This is great. Thick in emotion and honesty. It's good you set that darkness free, because no one deserves to feel that! I have been there, and it just eats away at your soul. nice job.

So maybe she will understand
The cards that she had dealt --- Honey, she will never get it. She was never one of 'us'...and she'll always be one of 'them'. A breeder. How could she possibly understand true love when she was only ever make believe in the first place?
